 Community

We are involved in our communities in various ways

We have links to a number of the schools in the town, where staff help to support CU’s and lead assemblies. Church staff serve as governors at local schools - and we host an annual Song for Christmas competition between local schools where pupils write and perform a Christmas Song.

We help to support a project worker from `Schools Outreach`, who is able to provide one to one pastoral help, and advice to Studentsa alongside a mentoring scheme. He is also available to facilitate work experience placements to give children opportunities to learn and develop.

We are actively involved in supporting relief and development work throughout the world. Over the last year we have supported Operation Christmas Child, Book Aid, Release International, Hebron School (India). We are currently supporting a respite care project in Rumania with our Harvest project.

On our own back door we work in association with Christians against Poverty to provide a debt counselling service to those who need help.

Our older people (50+) have a weekly club called Kairos, where tea and chat is combined with input from a wide variety of speakers, and opportunity is provided for trips out.
