Cells currently meet in Worksop, Laneham, Ordsall, Retford (town), and we are planning to form Cells in Gainsborough, Hallcroft, Clarborough, Tuxford, Ranskill, Thrumpton, London Road, and a second Retford town cell. Why Cell? Cell is a different way of looking at church - It is a re-discovery of the root values of Christianity, putting the emphasis on meeting together and relating at more than a superficial level. So Cells enable real relationships to form, for discipleship to be `caught` rather than `taught`, for everyone to be involved and discover and use their gifts in a supportive atmosphere. Cells are also the perfect unit for growth as they divide easily and grow rapidly. How does Cell work?Cells meet together each week to share and grow in their faith. A discussion is based around the teaching that is given on Sunday mornings. (we are currently looking at 1 Corinthians). Cells also meet together with other cells on Sundays and at occasional united cell meetings. These Sunday morning congregational meetings are essential to providing unity and direction for the cells. |
